Newell Brands’ outdoor sales lifted by early retailer orders

Newell Brands’ outdoor and recreation division’s first-quarter sales increased by 15 percent to $388 million, bolstered by accelerated orders of seasonal products by retailers, as operating income tripled to $45 million. Brands within the segment include Aerobed, Bubba, Campingaz, Coleman, Contigo, Marmot and Stearns.
