3M has acquired Ross Outdoors Sports Specialties, a U.S. manufacturer of fly fishing equipment and accessories, based in Colorado, that works with small outdoor specialty stores as well as larger chains such as Academy Sports + Outdoor and Bass Pro Shops, generating annual sales of $1 million to $2.5 million. Ross claims to be a leader in fly reels. 3M already owns another more mainstream fishing tackle brand, Scientific Anglers.
