Albany International has reported a 66.4 percent increase in sales of PrimaLoft insulation products to $5.6 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, with growth of 72.1 percent in local currencies, as compared to the same period a year ago. This segment of the company’s activities, which caters heavily to the sporting goods industry, generally makes losses in the second part of the year, but it made a profit of $1.2 million in the latest quarter, against a small loss one year ago. The outlook is promising. As a group, Albany International made a net profit of $3.6 million in the quarter on 4.8 percent higher revenues of $228.4 million.
