Arc'teryx, the fast-growing Canadian outdoor brand of the Amer Sports group, is launching an initiative across its North American stores and one in London that gives customers the opportunity to borrow apparel and gear for field testing.
The program is meant to allay fears that the product and its materials might not live up to expectations once purchased. It is also designed to give customers a recommendation to try new gear to go with their existing wardrobe.
Each Arc'teryx store in North America allows customers to choose from a different mix of products that match the local climate and terrain. The items can be borrowed for up to four days, free of charge. However, a deposit equal to half the retail value of the chosen products is required. In addition, each store will apply its own limitations as to how many items can be borrowed at once.
Products currently available through the program come from the brand's collections of apparel, backpacks and boots, including the Alpha and Nuclei AR jackets, the Norvan LD GTX running shoes and the Alpha FL 45 backpack.
