Barbour, the British brand of hunting and lifestyle apparel, has entered a license agreement with W.L. Gore & Associates to use Gore-Tex and Windstopper beginning with the fall/winter collection 2011-12. Currently, Barbour is sold in 40 countries, partially through 20 corporate stores (of which five are in Germany). To meet the different demands, Barbour and Gore will develop two different collections: The “Sporting Collection” of functional outerwear is especially developed for the British Isles, while a more lifestyle-oriented line will target Scandinavia and the Benelux and German-speaking countries. Simultaneously, Brooks Sports is working with W.L. Gore & Associates to make a new line of Gore-Tex running shoes that should hit the market in autumn 2011. Brooks will be using Gore-Tex technology in its “Adrenaline ASR” and “Ghost” styles, both on- and off-road shoes.
