Bever Zwerfsport, the leading outdoor retailer in the Netherlands, is continuing to expand with the opening of two more stores this month. They will lift the total to 31 stores, including a mono-brand store for The North Face and outdoor stores dedicated to women, called Women’s Outdoor World. With a surface of 600 square metres, the first new store was opened last week in Bergen op Zoom, near the Belgian border, and is expected to draw customers from that country as well. The second new store will open later this month on about 1,000 square metres in Lelystad. When Bever was acquired in September 2007 by A.S. Adventure, the Belgian retailer, Bever’s chief executive said that there was still scope for five to ten more stores in the Netherlands.
