Only a few months after the acquisition of Brunton by the Swedish Fenix Outdoor group, the new combination has been quick to set up an operating structure in Europe for this U.S. brand of compasses, binoculars, mobile energy collecting devices and other accessories. While the company is registered in the Netherlands, the operating business will be steered from Swedish headquarters in Solna.
The managing director of the new unit will be Paul Rosenquist. The 34-year-old used to work for Primus, the specialty brand for lamps and cooking equipment within the Fenix family that includes Fjällräven, Tierra, Hanwag and the Swedish retailer Naturkompaniet.
Core markets of the new unit of Brunton in Europe are Scandinavia (with Iceland), the Benelux and German-speaking countries, France, Spain, Italy and the Eastern European countries. The daily business of Brunton Europe is said to be supported bookkeeping and logistics provided by the corporate group’s back office.
