Helen Johnson-Leipold, the chairwoman and CEO of Johnson Outdoors, took the 831st position in the 2021 Forbes’ World’s Billionaires List with a net worth of $3.6 billion, up from $3.3 billion in 2020. Johnson-Leipold has been running the company since 1999. She is also the chairwoman of the Johnson Financial Group. Johnson Outdoors owns a large portfolio of brands for fishing (Humminbird, Minn Kota, Cannon), diving (Scubapro), camping (Eureka!, Jetboil) and watercraft (Old Town, Ocean Kayak). Despite the pandemic, the list of the world’s richest people recorded a total of 2,755 names, 660 more than a year ago, including 493 absolute newcomers, an unprecedented number of new billionaires in the 35-year history of the ranking. In addition, 86 percent are richer than a year ago. Jeff Bezos emerged as the world’s richest person for the fourth year in a row, with a net worth of $177 billion.
