Following a successful Series A round, New Mexico-based Green Theme Technologies, Inc. (GTT), a developer of sustainable and water-free textile technologies, reached its goal of $3.5 million in its first Series B closing. The funds raised will be used to further develop its sustainable platform technologies, including the Empel water-free textile finishing process, hire employees and support licensing partners. Investors in the Series B funding round include Phoenix Venture Partners and Safer Made, both of which have invested in sustainability-focused inventions, platforms and companies. GTT is currently working with a small number of outdoor brands. At ISPO Munich 2020, Black Diamond won an ISPO Gold Award for its Dawn Patrol Hybrid Shell, which features GTT’s Empel. Jack Wolfskin and Marmot have also been working with GTT since 2017, resulting in Empel-powered products such as Jack Wolfskin’s Exolight Pro and Mountain Tech Softshell and Marmot’s EVODry Clouds Rest or EVODry Kingston jackets. In 2018, GTT received Eco-Pass Certification by Oeko-Tex.
