With total sales of 176,045 motorcycles and 53,378 e-bikes and bicycles worldwide, Austrian two-wheeler giant Pierer Mobility AG has closed the first half of 2021 on a strong note.

While the motorcycle sales under the KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas brand names almost doubled with an increase of 94.9 percent compared to the first six months of the previous year, the comparatively young e-bike and bicycle division Pierer E-Bikes GmbH with its brands Husqvarna E-Bicycles, GasGas Bicycles and R Raymon was able to record an increase of 25 percent with total sales of 53,378 units. This total sales volume is divided into 39,603 e-bikes and 13,755 non-motorized bicycles.

According to Pierer Mobility, the e-bike and bicycle segment (but especially e-bikes) is being driven “to participate in the attractive market growth in the e-bicycle segment and to develop into a significant international player in this area.”

The detailed half-year report of Pierer Mobility AG, listed in Switzerland, will be published on Aug. 31.
