German DTC bicycle supplier Poison Bikes has a new owner. Company founder, owner and previously sole managing director Hans Werner Theisen has sold his bicycle manufactory to entrepreneur Thomas Wiesel for an undisclosed amount. Theisen will remain active in the company and run the business together with Wiesel. Poison Bikes is a medium-sized bicycle manufacturer as well as a specialist retailer. It has made a name for itself over the years as a manufacturer of individualized premium bicycles under its own name. The handmade bicycles and e-bikes are sold in Europe through the company’s own online store as well as a select “Poison Service” dealer network. The sale is justified by Theisen’s desire to invest not only in a currently healthy company but above all in a future-oriented company, “a company whose range of products can be used to actively help shape the pressing issues of the future.” Poison Bikes employs about 25 people.
