Cristina Castagna, the Italian mountain climber, is being outfitted by Salewa for her attempts to climb Broad Peak and Gasherbrum, 8,000-plus-meter peaks in the Himalayas. If she succeeds with both, she will have climbed six of the 14 over-8,000s. She will be wearing Salewa’s alpineXtrem PRO collection. Separately, Salewa has presented a project to build Italy’s largest climbing wall at its new head office in Bolzano. It will cost about €4.5 million, out of which €1.4 million will be funded by local authorities.
