Dan Templin, the chief financial officer for VF Outdoor, is the newly elected chairman of the American Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) board. Mike Wallenfels, president of Mountain Hardwear, will continue to serve on the board for one year in a past chair role. Newly elected OIA board members serving three-year terms are: Templin, Darren Bush, owner of Rutabaga Paddlesports; Kim Walker, founder and president of Outdoor Divas; Casey Sheehan, chief executive of Patagonia; Beaver Theodosakis, co-founder of prAna; Norman Cavallaro, president of North Cove Outfitters; Joe Flynn, vice president for sports group of Nielsen Business Media; Bob Holding, co-founder of Waypoint Outdoors; David Kulow, president and CEO of All Terrain; Ed McAlister, owner of River Sports Outfitters; Bobbie Parisi, vice president for marketing at Keen Footwear; and Sue Rechner, president and CEO of Confluence Watersports. Meanwhile, five new members appointed to the board are: Sutton Bacon, CEO of Nantahala Outdoor; Tom Barney, CEO of Osprey Packs; Joe Hyer, The Alpine Experience; Pam Schwarzbach, principal, The Ascential; Steve Schuster, global brand manager for W.L. Gore; Scott Sible, president of Merrell/Patagonia Footwear; Bill Sweasy, chairman and CEO of Red Wing Shoe; and Zohar Ziv, chief operating officer of Deckers Outdoor.
