Décathlon is planning to enter the Czech market early next year. According to local reports, the French giant should start up there in the spring of 2010 with a store of 3,700 square meters in the winter sports resort of Liberec, 110 kilometers north of Prague, but company officials indicate that they would prefer to start with a location closer to the capital. According to the Swedish press, Décathlon has set up an office in Stockholm to prepare the opening of its first store in that country, but it seems like a long-term objective. Décathlon is looking at several other markets all over the world, and as previously indicated, Switzerland seems to be a bigger priority right now.
