, an online retailer of running, hiking and fitness products headquartered in Shipley, Yorkshire, has entered into a retail partnership with Patagonia for the Californian brand’s Hike and Trail collection. Brett Bannister, managing director of, commented to local news website T&A: “We are hugely excited to have a brand as prestigious as Patagonia partner with us. As a business, we share many of Patagonia’s principles. It is an exemplary brand when it comes to reducing the impact that the apparel retail supply chain has on the environment.” 

The online retailer evolved from SportsShoes Unlimited, a stationary sporting goods store opened in Shipley in 1982 by professional footballer Bruce Bannister. It has since grown into one of the U.K.’s leading online retailers for running and hiking, which also ships products across Europe, and stocks more than 17,000 products from 149 global running and outdoor brands, including Nike, Asics, New Balance, Adidas, Rab, Mammut and Haglöfs.

In its last recent fiscal year, ending Feb. 28, 2021,’s revenue grew 37 percent to £92.2 million (€109.9 million), resulting in a 118 percent increase in Ebitda to £12.2 million (€14.5 million). Through the end of September 2021, the e-tailer reported sales broadly in line with the previous year but slowing somewhat due to the reopening of brick-and-mortar retail in the summer of 2021, which eliminated some of the online business associated with Covid-19 and the lockdowns.
