The German Uvex Group is further developing its digital business models and opening an online brand store for end consumers that carries all Uvex Group brands and their B2C-ready assortment. This includes sports and leisure equipment from Uvex and Alpina, as well as safety products for the workplace. Also available through the new brand store are Filtral brand sunglasses and reading glasses, which are sold primarily through drugstores, food retailers or discounters.
The Uvex Group brand store is being opened to complement the subgroups’ existing B2B sales channels, such as traditional specialist retailers, industrial and retail customers, and Amazon. In the long term, according to Michael Winter, managing partner of the group, the Fürth-based family business wants to develop into a high-quality, solution-oriented multi-channel provider. All the necessary requirements were implemented in an autonomously operating subgroup, Protecting People GmbH, which joins the ranks of Uvex Safety Group, Uvex Sports Group and Filtral Group as the fourth subsidiary of the Uvex Group. The managing directors of Protecting People are chief digital officer Bernd Preusch and Gerhard Guttenberger, head of group controlling at the Uvex Group.
