Feelmax, the Finnish specialty socks supplier, has successfully moved into the footwear business. In their first year of marketing shoes in 2007, the Finns sold 70,000 pairs of shoes. The largest markets for Feelmax are Finland and Germany, where an office was opened last fall, as well as Thailand, where the brand’s manufacturer also acts as a distributor. The manufacturer is BRC, which produces about 12.5 million pairs of shoes a year. BRC belong to the Thai PAN Group which makes 45 million pairs of shoes a year for brands such as Nike, ECCO, Lacoste, Timberland, and K-Swiss. Feelmax is owned by the brothers Jarno, Juhani and Kaisa Pulkka, along with their sister Sari.
