For its Europe, Middle East, Africa region (EMEA), The North Face reports that it has closed its order books for the fall/winter season 2011-12 one month earlier than usual, in spite of a successful sell-through over the past months. With this move, the brand aims to continue to be a credible and reliable partner for its retail clients, trying to anticipate problems that it may have with the shaken supply chain between the Far East and the Western markets. The target is to prevent understocks, late deliveries and quality problems. At the same time the company reports record-breaking pre-orders without giving precise figures.
