Icebreaker opened its first outlet store in North America on May 28 in Woodburn, Oregon. The 1,400-square-foot space is in the Woodburn Company Stores outlet center, which attracted more than 4.2 million shoppers last year. According to a report in the Financial Times, the Kiwi brand’s chief, Jeremy Moon, plans to open up to 50 stores within the next five years worldwide. Another store is going to open in New York City’s SoHo area in September. The report hints that Icebreaker had 2009 sales of 140 million New Zealand dollars (€77.5m-$92.4m).
