Ispo and the European Outdoor Group (EOG) have announced a new partnership that is designed to attract more specialist outdoor retailers to Ispo Munich in 2014. Outdoor retailers who have never visited the trade show in the past, or who have not visited it for at least three years, will be invited to the attend the upcoming edition of the event, on Jan. 26-29, free of charge as VIPs and with subsidized accommodation.

The project is being launched this month. Ispo and EOG are encouraging retailers to apply directly, and brands to nominate suitable retailers to be invited to the show. To qualify, retailers must have been running a successful shop for at least one year and have an outdoor focus representing at least 40 percent of the turnover.

The initiative is being led by a high-profile advisory group. Members of the group include Eddy Codega, president and chief executive of Camp, Martin Riebel, chief executive of Deuter, Nicolas Warchalowski, chief executive of Haglöfs, Reiner Gerstner, group brand and marketing director of the Salewa Group, and Christian Jäggi, managing director of Black Diamond Europe.

Retailers have until Nov. 30 to apply. The deadline for brands to nominate retailers is also Nov. 30. In early December, an industry jury will select up to 70 winners, who will be informed by Dec. 15 at the latest.

The application information with further details about the scheme, including all qualification criteria, is available at
