Jack Wolfskin is continuing to explore partnerships in Eastern Europe, teaming up with three retailers who will open Jack Wolfskin shop-in-shops in their stores: Mountex in Hungary, Sport Depot in Bulgaria and Sport Virus in Romania.
Separately, a Jack Wolfskin franchised store was opened in August in Kiev, the capital of the Ukraine, where the German company works together with Marathon Sport. Jack Wolfskin sells directly to this Ukrainian partner, which does not have exclusive distribution rights but effectively functions as the German brand's sole retail partner. Marathon Sport also runs several Columbia and Northland stores.
Another Jack Wolfskin store was opened in Poland by Fam, the German brand's distributor and retail franchising partner in the country. Fam already runs five Jack Wolfskin stores in Poland and the latest opening took place in September in Wroc?aw. Fam is also the company behind four Polish multi-brand outdoor stores trading as Horyzont.
We already reported exclusively about Jack Wolfskin's opening of a Russian subsidiary in July and a new store in Moscow in September, complementing the three stores of the German outdoor company's former distributor in Saint Petersburg. Details on all of these operations are detailed in our market research study on Eastern Europe, released this month.
