LaCrosse, the American brand for rugged footwear, increased its sales by 9 percent to $40.3 million in the third quarter ended Sept. 27. Net earnings slipped from $3.3 million to $2.8 million, partially due to the cost for establishing a European subsidiary, about which THE COMPASS already reported.
