Laura Dahlmeier was an extraordinary athlete.

Laura Dahlmeier was a two-time Olympic gold medalist and seven-time world champion in biathlon. After retiring from the sport, she worked as a TV expert and pursued studies in sports science. She also became a certified mountain guide, further expanding her career into alpinism. As an alpinist, Dahlmeier was supported by brands such as Petzl, Adidas Terrex, Osprey, Scott Bikes, Scarpa, Leki, Fischer Ski and Garmin. In late 2024, she drew attention with a remarkable ascent of the Himalayan peak Ama Dablam in Nepal, where she set a new speed record.

Dahlmeier retired from biathlon at age 25

Dahlmeier ended her biathlon career at the age of just 25, a decision that was widely regarded as courageous and self-determined. She later made the film United by Summits together with renowned mountaineers Thomas and Alexander Huber. In the movie, the trio climbs Mont Blanc via the challenging Brouillard Pillar route. Thomas Huber was also involved in the unsuccessful rescue mission for Dahlmeier on Laila Peak in the Karakorum Mountains of Pakistan.

Dahlmeier was admired not only for her athletic achievements but also for her authenticity and independent spirit. Her decision to leave professional biathlon at her peak underscored a personal journey marked by passion, purpose and perseverance.
