Mammut Sports Group has appointed Marc Estor as new head of its footwear business unit. The 41-year-old has been with shoe companies for 15-odd years, serving for companies like Adidas, Ecco and most recently MBT. Estor replaces Stefan Merkt who took on the newly created position of head of category management earlier this year (read COMPASS of Feb. 6), but kept the job of head of footwear. Merkt was in charge of Mammut shoes for seven years. He was in that job even before Mammut acquired Raichle, the Swiss brand that gave way to the Mammut-labeled footwear line last year.
