Many of Timberland's spring products are going to make use of its new ?Bionic? canvas, which uses ion mask technology. The company claims that the canvas is 30 percent stronger than regular canvas and dries 30 percent quicker than all-cotton canvas. It is made from Bionic yarn, which is 50 percent organic cotton wrapped around a core of 38 percent recycled PET and 12 percent HT polyester. It is also supposedly twice as resistant to abrasions as regular canvas. The new material will be used in more than 80 styles for the spring collection.
