Montane, the British outdoor apparel brand, has moved into two new countries in Scandinavia as it starts to build up a more complete network of distributors around Europe. Four months ago Montane paved the way for its introduction in Sweden through a distribution deal with Gear for Fear, a Swedish distributor specializing in climbing products, selling brands from Milo apparel to Roca ropes and Cassin equipment. Gear for Fear also has its own store near its head office in Malmberget, and intends to open another in Umeå before the end of the year. At the OutDoor fair last week, Montane added another country, Finland, where it will be sold through an agent, Jyrki Ahokas, who has already teamed up with Crocs. Several more agreements are to be finalized in the next months.
