Outdoor against Cancer (OaC), a German charity organizing outdoor activities for cancer patients, is campaigning to find more sponsors and supporters for its initiatives in Germany and across Europe. The charity, which is based in Munich, was founded in 2015 by Petra Thaller, a media professional and cancer patient herself, who launched the initiative while she was undergoing her therapy.

The organization can already count on partnerships within the outdoor industry, the European Union, the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) Munich and the Technics University Munich. In addition to its programs in Germany, OaC is also launching similar programs in other European countries. Thaller's vision is in fact a Europe-wide network offering outdoor activities for cancer patients of all age groups.

Scientists have widely demonstrated, in thousands of studies, that sport helps prevent various forms of cancer. It is also a precious tool for cancer patients to help them endure cancer therapy and reduce the side effects of this therapy. The specificity of OaC, as compared to other cancer organizations, is its focus on outdoor activities. Information on the organization and its initiatives can be found at www.outdooragainstcancer.de.
