Outdoor Nordic, the large-scale Nordic outdoor fair that was due to be launched in Stockholm this summer, has been postponed by one year. It was meant to be organized by Kistamässan, a trade fair company which spotted a gap in the market since only a few Swedish outdoor companies take part in Swesport, the annual trade fair for the Swedish sports industry that it also held in January. However, the outdoor project was called off after a change at the helm of Svenskt Sportforum, the Swedish association of sporting goods vendors and retailers. Klas Elm, who had been running it for several years, was succeeded by Claes Forsberg, former manager of the Djurgarden IF hockey team. Forsberg quickly made it clear that he wanted to reinforce the outdoor component of the Svenskt Sportforum and therefore decided to take over the organization of a larger Scandinavian outdoor fair, albeit from next year. In the meantime, the smaller Stockholm Outdoor Days will still take place later this year.
