Outdoor Research is sponsoring the participants of Connecting the Gems, a project in which two people exploring two different outdoor areas in the Western U.S. will collect data about how they are connected ecologically. The areas are the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in Montana and Wyoming, and a designated wilderness area in Idaho. The trekkers are Deia Schlosberg and Gregg Treinish, who won an award from National Geographic in 2008 for their recorded trek down the spine of the Andes mountains. Outdoor Research will feature photos, podcasts and movies of the new adventure at its VertiCulture website, which is outdoorresearchverticulture.com.
