Peak Performance has opened a general store in My Zeil, a new shopping mall on Frankfurt’s prestigious shopping street Zeil. The store has a selling surface of 180 square meters and is run by Dieter Schätzel, a local retailer. Schätzel was a pioneer in the local retailing scene when he opened Alpinbasis, a downtown Frankfurt store which is mainly dedicated to Scandinavian outdoor brands. Schätzel continues to run Alpinbasis with his partner; the store is supported by the Scandinavian Outdoor Group (SOG). Currently, Peak operates 70 stores worldwide either itself or through retail customers. In Germany, the Swedish brand has now eight stores of which six are run by retailers. The doors in Berlin and Munich, the latter right in front of SportScheck, are corporate stores. Another outdoor-related brand, Odlo, moved its Frankfurt store to My Zeil when the shopping mall opened in late February.
