Petzl is furious about a major attack of Chinese counterfeiters who not only copy the brand's products, but also use the logo and other nearly identical features. As of this writing, Petzl has identified four products that were skillfully faked: the ?Croll? ascender, the ?Attache? locking carabiner, the ?Ascension? handled ascender and the ?Rescue? pulley. Petzl warns that the fakes are completely identical in terms of logo, product markings, colors, design and user manual. The testing of the products, however, had bad results: The major axis of the ?Attache? copy, for example, breaks at 13kN even though 20 kN minimum is the requirement.
