Cifra, the Milan-based seamless fabric developer, has presented an apparel range made with Q-Skin, an innovative yarn powered by Amni Virus-Bac Off that offers permanent antiviral protection. This polyamide yarn was developed by Rhodia-Solvay Group and distributed by Fulgar, an Italian firm working with Cifra for several years. Unlike dyeing finishes that have limited functionality and lose it when washed, the antiviral and antibacterial properties of Q-Skin powered by Amni Virus-Bac Off are said to be permanent thanks to the antiviral and antibacterial agent being incorporated into the yarn’s polymer matrix. These properties were verified by an independent laboratory, claims Cifra. Garments like tops, sweaters, leggings, gloves and helmet liners will benefit from this technology, with customization options available, the company said. Each garment is designed and produced in Italy, with STeP and Oeko-Tex certification.
