U.S. outdoor lifestyle brand Eddie Bauer has launched the BC Flyline Kit, the ski industry’s first outerwear set designed for sit-freeride skiers. The kit is specifically designed to meet the needs of adaptive skiers who participate in alpine skiing with a mono or bi-ski. Alpine sit-skiers require a molded plastic bucket attached to one or two skis with hand-held outriggers to provide stability. Eddie Bauer worked closely with Trevor Kennison, one of the most influential U.S. alpine sit-skiers, to design and test the waterproof, insulated jacket and bibs at every stage of the development process. Features such as extra insulation on the legs, pre-shaped knees, full-length sleeves and a high back on the bibs were developed based on feedback and direction from Kennison.
The BC Flyline Kit was nominated as a finalist for the Outdoor Retailer Innovation Award and will be on display at the OR Snow Show in Denver, Jan. 26-28.
