The German retailer Globetrotter is nominated for the German Sustainability Award in the “Resources” category. The prize is one of Europe’s best-known awards for ecological and social commitment and will be presented in December. Globetrotter has been picked as a nominee for a bundle of measures within its organization: The product seal “A Greener Choice” aims to help recognize more sustainable product alternatives in the Globetrotter assortments. In addition, most of the stores have regional repair workshops, a sales area for used outdoor equipment and a rental service for backpacks, tents, etc. The equipment rental service and the second-hand offer are also available online.
The German Sustainability Award is an award for ecological and social commitment. In eight competitions, sustainable pioneers are honored in the categories of companies, start-ups, and cities and communities, among others. The prize is awarded by the Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis e.V. (German sustainability award foundation) in cooperation with the German federal government, leading municipal associations, business associations, civil society organizations and research institutions. In 2022, the competition will be held for the 15th time.
