Strong from its 21 percent growth in turnover for 2008, Haglöfs is preparing to enter the Slovenian, Polish, Czech and Slovakian markets in a bid for international recognition. The Swedish outdoor brand is especially strong in Germany, and will use its office in the eastern part of the country to supply the new markets. It is currently in discussion with various distributors and is likely to take on agents to serve each of the markets. The brand is determined that the next step – after 2012 – will be to penetrate the U.S. market, probably via Canada. Sport-guide.com, the French trade publication, reports that Haglöfs’ sales in France would be around €1.2 million in France this year, up by 15 percent compared with 2008. Currently, Haglöfs’ French distributor, Nord-Ouest, works with some 50 retailers who are mainly located in the Alps and the Pyrenees.
