The Andaska chain of outdoor shops bought by the Quiksilver group a few years ago is getting out of the outdoor sector. Andaska’s three stores in the Paris area are being to be transformed into Boardriders Club shops and will mostly sell the group’s Quiksilver, Roxy and DC brands. Refurbishment has already started. The Andaska store in Briançon, which was acquired in 2006 from Philippe Bobillier, a member of Intersport, is remaining Andaska Outdoor, but Quiksilver is seeking someone to take it over. The 1,000-square-meter Andaska store in Anglet is being renovated so it can hold a 300-square-meter space dedicated to women’s wear. The rest of the space will be put on the market in order to find someone to take it over. The majority of the staff will keep their jobs. Quiksilver acquired Andaska in July 2004 at a bankruptcy court and saved the company by taking over three of Andaska’s five stores and 74 of its 120 employees.
