Pamela Ravasio, a 38-year-old Swiss national who speaks many languages and lives in the U.K., has joined the European Outdoor Group to act as corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability manager. Vanessa Knowles, who took care of this important aspect of the EOG's activities on a part-time basis along with the general secretary of the association, Mark Held, will continue to work with the EOG on these subjects on a consultancy basis.

Ravasio brings to the EOG 15 years of business experience including nine years of major involvement in sustainability issues and projects. She has worked in higher education and for various companies and organizations, liasing closely with textile and fashion businesses as well as non-governmental organizations.

Based in Europe and Asia, Ravasio has consulted for textile suppliers such as Texao and Canepa, apparel firms such as Besteller and for the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Netherlands, among others. She has also been involved with CS Partners, a British executive recruitment firm, and with Pachacuti, the world's first fair trade fashion company.
