The Extreme Group from the U.K. has partnered with Development Design Group of Baltimore to help it create “leisuretainment” facilities in malls in Europe, the USA, Asia and the Middle East. The joint venture will put skateboard facilities, climbing walls and surf waves in retail malls and mixed-use and entertainment developments. Two such projects are already being discussed, in the USA and the Middle East. Led by Roy Higgs, chief executive, DDG has designed award-winning projects from South Africa to India to Las Vegas. Extreme Group, based in London, was founded by Al Gosling in 1995 and provides a range of branded lifestyle products and services including a TV channel, drinks, restaurants, apparel and sports hardgoods.
