The French camping federation (La Fédération de l’Hôtellerie de Plein Air) says that 2010 is going to be a good year for the industry. As camping grows worldwide, this could mean an increase of 4 to 5 percent in France. So far, industry professionals report an increase of 10 to 15 percent in reservations compared with this time last year. However, they warn that adverse weather could change that at any time, citing the poor figures for Brittany last summer. Last year, the numbers of French campers rose by 7.1 percent, while foreigners camping in France dropped by 1.1 percent. Twelve million French campers were counted, along with 7 million foreigners.
