Organizers of the OutDoor fair reiterated their commitment to improve infrastructure in Friedrichshafen, as the event continues to grow. This year’s fair is held in 11 halls, including one of two new halls promised by the organizers as they defeated Messe München last January in its bid to host the Outdoor fair until at least 2013. A new entrance and foyer are under construction on the eastern side of the complex for next year, when the fairgrounds will come to cover 85,000 square meters.

Traffic has improved thanks to new bus lanes, alternate one-way traffic regulations and 1,200 extra parking spaces near the entrance of the fairgrounds. Furthermore, it should be easier to find accommodation over the next years, since two hotel projects have been approved around Friedrichshafen and another two are under discussion.

The 15th edition of the fair has attracted 787 exhibitors from 40 countries, an increase of 56 compared with last year, with 150 new companies represented at the event. Taken all together, the exhibitors represent nearly 1,000 brands spread over 75,000 square meters. About 80 percent of the exhibitors are from countries other than Germany, and the organizers expect a similar rate of foreign visitors.
