The Outdoor Industry Association in the U.S. has formed an online task force with the help of Canada Goose and Deckers Outdoor Corporation with the goal of fighting the counterfeiting of outdoor products. The OIA says that the $289 billion outdoor industry, as well as American jobs and economy, are hurt by counterfeits. The task force, which also includes Vibram USA, Columbia Sportswear, Spyder Active Sports, Timberland and other U.S. outdoor brands, seeks the support of Congress in working to fight the theft of intellectual property. It already has the support of legislators from the House of Representatives and the Senate.
