The city of Silkeborg has decided to stand out as the self-appointed “outdoor capital of Denmark,” making investments since 2016 in facilities such as mountain-bike trails, new lake resorts, new hiking paths and natural shelters for the welfare of its 50,000 inhabitants and to attract outdoor-minded visitors and companies.
