The Wool Research Consortium of New Zealand is going to get more than $6.5 million from that country's government over the next five years. The consortium and other industry groups will try to match the amount, which is coming from the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology. The new investment follows up on a task force recommendation last year that the government try to maximize New Zealand's earnings from the wool industry.
