Hagan, the big player in touring skis, will take over the distribution of TSL in Austria and Germany. TSL is the big French manufacturer of snowshoes that also offers poles, backpacks and other hardgoods. Hagan is run by Franz Siegesleuthner, who also distributes Garmont in the region. Former distributors were Krimmer Outdoor System for Germany, the local distributor of Simond and Masters, and Franz Hohensinn (Grivel) for Austria.

The TSL sales in the region will be directed by Patrick Paier, who recently added new people to his sales force not only due to the new snowshoe job, but also because Hagan took over the distribution of Garmont’s outdoor footwear in addition to the Italian brand’s ski boots. Altogether, the Austrian company recently sold 15,000 pairs of touring skis and 45,000 pairs of Garmont-branded shoes.

TSL is owned by Philippe Gallay, whose sales were around €10 million in 2008. The French company therefore manufactured and sold roughly 200,000 units of snowshoes.
