Under new ownership since Oct.1, Karstadt has new management. At top of the business is Thomas Fox as chief executive; he served as the department store chain’s chief restructuring officer. Fox will also replace Emmanuel Siregar as the board member in charge of human resources. The new chief financial officer is Josef Schultheis, who has been a consultant to the formerly bankrupt company, replacing Thomas Toepfer, who has left the company. Alain Caparros, chief executive of the Rewe group and former president of Charles Vögele, has been named chairman of Karstadt’s board of directors.
