United Navigations, a unit which belongs to Falk, the well-known publisher of patent-folded city maps, is eyeing sporting-goods retail with its own GPS devices. Additionally, it has now Bryton, in its portfolio of distributed brands. Bryton, a company of Taiwan, markets its own computers for cycle training. Currently, United Navigations concentrates its efforts on the distribution of handheld GPS items on the German-speaking countries with maps for those three countries plus South Tyrol in Italy and the Spanish island of Mallorca. To get a stronger grip in sporting-goods retail, United Navigations is building up its own sales team led by Michael Wald as sales director. Wald used to be a regional sales representative for the entire group specialized in navigation solutions.
