Vibram’s technological center for research and development in Huadu in the Guandong shoe district has been officially opened in the presence of the Chinese government and army as well as of the Italian consular corps. Among other things, the center comprises 1,000 square meters of floorspace for research and development, 4,000 square meters dedicated to prototype production and industrialization, and 1,200 square meters for field tests under the most extreme conditions. In the meantime, the Italian sole manufacturer has sealed a deal to support The North Face Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc this August.
