W.L. Gore & Associates, maker of Gore-Tex fabric, has installed a new supply chain system from Precision Software, the international trade logistics solutions provider, in anticipation of new customs laws in Germany. New legislation in Germany will require all paper export declarations (SAD) to be replaced by an electronic system from July 1, 2009. Precision Software’s Global Trade Management Solution incorporates certified integration with the electronic customs filing system of Germany’s Federal Customs. The system will manage shipping operations across Gore’s 45 global sites from a single database and has been integrated with the company’s existing enterprise software and warehouse management solutions.
