Beijing Sanfo Outdoor Products reported increased losses in the third quarter and the first nine months of this year, blaming higher costs for the organization of mega-events and youth outdoor projects, including the construction of outdoor camps in China, which required the importation of camp facilities from abroad. The Chinese outdoor retailer's sales declined by 7.02 pecent to 77.99 million yuan renmimbi (€10.7m-$11.3m) in the third quarter ended Sept. 30, leading to a loss of RMB 7.66 million (€980,000-$1,110,000) for the period. For the first nine months of the year, sales were up by 7.55 percent to RMB 241.73 million (€33.1m-$35.1m), driven by outdoor clothing and socks, but the net loss increased by 179 percent to a similar level of RMB 7.19 million (€980,000-$1,040,000).
