Coldblack, the special Schoeller fabric, has been nominated for a Designpreis Deutschland – the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany, the highest official German award in the area of design. In order to be nominated, a company has to already have won national or international awards, and must be nominated through the federal states’ Departments of Trade and Industry, or through the Federal Ministry for Business and Technology. Coldblack has won the equivalent prize in its home country. It is a sun-protection technology that can be used on apparel and outdoor textiles. The final prizes will be announced at the end of the year.
